Join us at Kirkland Urban for an afternoon celebrating creativity, performance, and community during the Umbrella Fringe Festival.
Stop by the Paint Kirkland activity area to create a small air-dry clay sculpture or decorate one of our mini wood projects. We’ll provide the materials, tools, textures, and inspiration you need to make something uniquely your own.
Activities are suitable for children and adults and will be available while supplies last. Finished projects can be taken home the same day.

Pinch Pot Pumpkins: An Air-Dry Clay Workshop

Celebrate the beginning of fall by sculpting a pair of whimsical pumpkins from air-dry clay. In this beginner-friendly workshop, we’ll guide you through forming pinch pots, joining the pieces, creating pumpkin ridges, adding stems, and personalizing your pumpkins with textures and decorative details.
Your pumpkins will remain at Paint Kirkland while they dry. Beginning approximately one week later, return during regular studio hours to paint them in the colors and style of your choice.
Your registration includes air-dry clay for two small pumpkins, use of tools and textures, step-by-step instruction, drying and handling, and a return painting visit with acrylic paints and finishing supplies.
No clay experience is needed. Advance registration is required, and space is limited.
Halloween Bunting Workshop

Thursday, October 8th | 6:30–8 PM | $15 Workshop Fee + $7 per Bunting Piece
Create your own Halloween bunting during this festive, hands-on wood painting workshop! Choose from our collection of pre-designed, layered Halloween bunting pieces, then paint and assemble a banner that fits your style and space.
Your $15 workshop fee includes paints, supplies, creative guidance, and everything needed to assemble your finished bunting. Individual three-layer wood bunting pieces are $7 each, allowing you to choose how many pieces you’d like to include.
Most guests will likely choose 4–6 pieces, making the total project approximately $43–$57, including the workshop fee.
We’ll have a curated selection of Halloween designs to choose from, including ghosts, pumpkins, bats, spiderwebs, and other spooky details. All wood pieces are designed and cut in advance, so custom designs or day-of design substitutions may not be available. If you have your heart set on a particular design, we recommend selecting it when you register.
No painting experience is needed—we’ll help with color choices, painting techniques, and assembly along the way.

Wood Mosaic Workshop
Wood Mosaic Workshop
Friday, October 16th | 6:30-8 PM | $39 per person
Turn an assortment of shapes, textures, and unexpected wood scraps into a piece of dimensional art! In this creative workshop, you’ll start with a 12" × 12" wood canvas and build your own layered mosaic using a curated collection of laser-cut wood pieces from our studio.
We’ll have inspiration and pre-defined layouts available—including pumpkins, haunted houses, football and Pacific Northwest-inspired ideas—or you can create a completely original composition. Paint your pieces, experiment with color and arrangement, and then layer and stick everything together to create a one-of-a-kind piece for your home.
Your registration includes a 12" × 12" wood canvas, a curated assortment of wood pieces, paints and supplies, adhesives, and creative guidance throughout the workshop.
No art experience is needed—this workshop is all about experimenting and seeing what you can make from the pieces in front of you.

Cozy Mug Night
Cozy Mug Night
Thursday, October 22nd | 6:30–8 PM | No Event Fee
Settle into fall with a cozy evening of pottery painting at Paint Kirkland. Choose your favorite mug, pick your colors, and spend the evening creating something special for your morning coffee, tea, or cocoa.
We’ll have a small collection of painted mug inspiration available, including mountain landscapes, ocean scenes, desert designs, winter night skies, plaid patterns, and other simple ideas. You’re also welcome to bring your own inspiration, and our team will be available to help with colors, techniques, and bringing your idea to life.
To make the evening extra cozy, each attendee will receive a complimentary cup of tea or cocoa to enjoy while painting. Plus, everyone who paints a mug will receive a free drink coupon to Caffè Ladro to use on a future visit.
Choose from our available selection of mugs and drinkware. Regular pottery pricing applies, with no additional event fee. Your finished piece will stay with us to be glazed and kiln-fired and will be ready for pickup approximately one week later.
No painting experience is needed. Reservations are encouraged so we can make sure you have a table.

Dress up the family and join us for Treat Street, Kirkland Urban’s Halloween celebration filled with trick-or-treating, entertainment, music, festive activities, and plenty of Halloween fun. The event is complimentary and open to the public.
While you’re exploring Treat Street, stop by our Paint Kirkland booth for a quick Halloween mini-make! Choose from a fun selection of wood Halloween projects.
These mini projects are designed to be quick and easy, making them a fun creative stop between trick-or-treating and the other festivities around Kirkland Urban. Finished projects can be taken home the same evening.
